Yogasopanam: About Us Yogasopanam: Quote

YogasopanamTM Wellness Private Limited is the brainchild of a team of yoga experts, teachers and holistic wellness guides who have more than a decade of experience in researching, teaching and healing through yoga and its related practices.

At YogasopanamTM Wellness we believe that nothing is more important than a healthy and happy life. Caught in the grind of modern day living, however, man has lost this very essence of life. This has resulted in high doses of stress, anxiety and depression, leading to repeated physical ailments.

At YogasopanamTM Wellness we strive to show you an alternate way of life through our practices. Our yoga techniques are derived from an ancient Indian philosophy and the age-old wisdom of enlightened masters or maharishis. These men of great knowledge and wisdom have shared their learning through the ancient science of yoga and tantra, which has the power to heal the body, mind and soul and restore peace in the fast paced lives we lead today.

Yoga and tantra are the pre-requisites for a holistic way of life. The word ‘yoga’ comes from the Sanskrit word ‘yuj’, which means “to yoke or unite.” Yoga, therefore, seeks to unite the body, mind and consciousness in perfect harmony so that man can be at peace with himself and at one with nature. Tantra, on the other hand, teaches us to lead a disciplined life through various practices. The tantric scriptures of yore are abundant with knowledge that will equip man to improve the quality of his life by co-existing in harmony with all of nature.

The holistic practices of yoga and tantra have been lost in the maze of modern life. In his rush for success, man has forsaken his basic values. Today, he views science and spirituality as opposing forces, whereas from ancient times, they co-existed as twin branches of the same tree. Neither one without the other.

At YogasopanamTM Wellness we believe we can make a difference. By practicing and propagating yoga and its related sciences, we hope to make a difference in the quality of your life. Our dedicated team of teachers and experts have implemented and applied many a yoga therapy for the wellbeing of our students. Nothing matters more to us than your welfare, and we believe where there is yoga, there is hope.

Paramahamsa Atmaswroopananda (Shyam Nair)

His spiritual quest began as early as at the age of six and since then, he has been guided and initiated by gurus into the path of seeking life’s many truths. In his poorvashrama (pre-monastic life), he was a corporate man and householder. An innovator, creative thinker, trainer and motivator par excellence, he chose the field of marketing in his profession and brought some exciting, innovative concepts to leading brands. He was drawn to yoga 15 years back with his passion for unraveling the secrets of ancient yogic and tantric texts. Today, he is not only a teacher, but also remains an avid researcher in yoga and its practices as well as Indian philosophy as encapsulated in the ancient scriptures of the Upanishads and the Bhagavad Gita. Paramahamsa Atmaswroopananda is widely travelled in the Himalayas, where he was initiated into the secret practices of tantric kundalini yoga by his spiritual guru Poojya Paramahamsa Virajananada. A Karma Sanyasi, he is passionate about yoga and tantra, and works towards reaching the benefits of this ancient wisdom to the maximum number of people.

Deepa Kannan

She was introduced to yoga as a child twenty years ago and thought it was the most boring practice ever! Years later, during a difficult phase in life, she caught a glimpse of a random yoga class in Bangalore and was inspired to try it out. What began as just a hobby to whittle away extra hours, soon became a beautiful and meaningful journey where she discovered natural ease of movements and the tremendous benefits of Hatha Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga and Vinyasa.

When she chanced upon an advertisement for teacher training programmes at the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre, she did not think twice about applying. Her quest for perfection took her to the Sivananda Yoga ashram in Kerala, where she underwent extensive training in the practices of hatha yoga and raja yoga. The journey continued in the Sivananda Yoga ashram in Uttarkashi where she delved further into the practices of yoga. She is now certified to teach under the aegis of the organisation. Her classes bring together influences from her various teachers without diluting the tradition of Hatha Yoga.

Deepa conducts private classes, group sessions, as well as classes on pre and post natal yoga in and around Bangalore. She believes that an ounce of practice is worth a ton of theory so her classes focus on practicing yoga from the heart and soul. She brings a childlike innocence to her classes along with innovative teaching methods. Her journey to live, love and teach yoga continues…
